This month's Topic:   Large Scale Enterprise Agility

Scott's been thinking recently about how to organize large enterprises to support agile development teams. There are a number of dimensions to the problem, but three seem particularly interesting:

1)      Selection and management of strategic initiatives

2)     Organizational structures to support initiative development

3)     Initiative funding

Some thoughts will be offered for discussion.  With participation, a deeper understanding of factors that contribute to or constrain enterprise agility should be achieved.

Speaker Bio:

Scott Killen is a founder of Agile Austin and the Agile Practice Leader for PayPal.  He is a Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Practitioner through the Scrum Alliance and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.  He is co-instructor for an IT Project Management class as well as an Agile Project Leadership class at Austin Community College.  He is a past President of the Austin Software Process Improvement Network, past Chair of the Austin PMI Technical Local Interest Group, and and in 1997 he was awarded a CSQE from the American Society for Quality.

The purpose of the Agile Leaders SIG is to provide a forum in which those responsible for leading agile adoption and improving agile practices can learn from each other.  Attendees are expected to share their knowledge with the group and contribute their unique perspectives.

Hyperformix is on the south side of Lake Austin at the 360 Pennybacker bridge.

• Coming down 360 from the north, turn right into the first driveway immediately after the bridge.
• Coming up 360 from the south, exit right before the bridge, take the turnaround under the bridge and then turn right in the first driveway.

You can park in the open lots or any of the garages that aren't indicated as reserved.
